WWGC Social Committee Fun Event – Golfer / Non-Golfer
Friday, 26th July 2024
With the 1st Tee closed from 5pm on Friday evening, and thankfully with the sun shining, this fun social event saw 24 golfers accompany their non-golfing partners around holes 1 to 9.
The event was held as a Stableford, but with a twist; like a medal, each hole had to be completed. Thus, the golfers were required to get their balls onto the green, and only then could their non-golfing partners putt.
With the purpose most definitely being to hold a ‘fun event’, but also to give partners, wives, husbands, grandchildren etc. a ‘snippet of our golfing days at WWGC’, we had two inflatable trophies being won, a plastic golf set presented to the best ‘non-golfer putter’, one team dressed in clashing, crazy shirts, – and on top of all this, the encouragement to penalise and ‘dob in golfers’ should they, at any stage, touch their putter!
All who participated agreed that they had great fun and wanted to know when the next one would be held.
Thanks to all those who helped and participated. It was a unique and fun evening that we shall certainly consider holding again.
