Ukraine Success - Now back in the UK
Our convoy on this trip was 46 vehicles (pickups and ambulances) and we traveled over 1850 Kilometres to Lviv (I will leave you to do the mileage calculation!!).
We were with Pickups 4 Peace. They were founded in February 2023 and since then they have organised and managed 60 convoys taking over a total of 642 vehicles, totaling £5.5million in aid.
I am sorry to say that I cannot provide any photographs of us handing them over as this is strictly controlled but I do attach a photograph of the four of us; (Left to right - John Russell, Anthony Knyvett, myself and Michael Drummond Smith) at the handover presentation.
I just wanted to repeat my thanks to WWGC for their support and especially to Helen who made the flapjacks that we took with us for the troops.
They were a huge success. It was a wonderful effort by Helen, and we know it was hugely appreciated by the Ukrainians. I am basing this on the fact that one moment they were on the back seat of our pickup and within seconds they had disappeared amongst the soldiers!
