Rob Walker Trophy (11/25 October) – Results
The second (and concluding) round of the Rob Walker Pairs competition was held on Sunday in excellent conditions enabling another set of low scores to feed the feast! The competition is played over 36 holes on two days in a fourball better ball medal format off ¾ handicap.
Going into the second round with a one shot lead over a chasing group of 4 pairs were Dave Wilkin and Chris Lindop who had scored a very creditable net 61 in the first round two weeks previously. Results of the first round are recorded here.
In the second round it was Tony Aylesbury and Graham Russell who came through with a net 61 to add to their first round net 63 to take the spoils overall…..a tidy little earner! In 2nd place were Dave Dredge and Adam Christopher. Steve Smith and Pete Laidlaw mopped up in 3rd place. Father and son pairing Duncan and Matthew Gee finished with a combined score of 126 which would have given them 2nd overall, but Matthew's handicap was inactive for Round 1 so they were unable to take honours - but a creditable effort and welcome back to the club Matthew.
