Letter from Mr Scott Talbot (Wiltshire Golf Operations Director)
County Update and Newsletter - October 2019
Good Morning,
I hope all is well with you and that your courses aren’t submerged under the biblical quantities of rain we received over the weekend! It seems that we are getting all last summer’s rain this autumn.
I would just like to update you with all the news from the County scene. Firstly our wonderful Communications Director Sue Lyons has now completed the second newsletter that you asked for. It can be seen on the website, so all you need to do is click here.
I would be really grateful if you could share this with your members, either via e mail or if you could put a link on your website that would be even better.
On another note two of our original Directors will be stepping down at next year’s AGM. Lynn Thornton and Irene Tomkinson have served Wiltshire Golf (and specifically Wiltshire Ladies Golf) with distinction for many years, and have decided that now is the time to have a break! We will be detailing and celebrating their enormous contribution to County Golf in more detail soon, but in the meantime we are looking for more volunteers to fill their places.
We are seeking to fill the positions of Competitions Director and Director, and to that end I am attaching the role profiles for both jobs. Please can you circulate these to all your members, and if you, or any of them are interested in applying for the posts please can you let me know via e mail, with a quick note of no more than 200 words as to why you/they are interested in the position.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help influence the future of golf in Wiltshire so please encourage you members to get involved.
