Sunday, 19th July – Ladies’ First Team v Wrag Barn:
On Sunday 19th July, West Wilts Ladies played their second away match of the season at Wrag Barn in Swindon.
The team was determined to secure a win after narrowly losing 3–2 when Wrag Barn visited West Wilts earlier in the season. The course proved to be a real challenge, with the exceptionally dry conditions making the ground firm and the ball bounce unpredictably. Despite this, the ladies rose to the occasion and produced a fantastic performance, coming away with a superb 4–1 victory.
This result keeps West Wilts Ladies at the top of the league table, an outstanding achievement.

Friday, 31st July – Ladies’ First Team v Marlborough:
The Ladies’ First Team travelled to Marlborough for a scratch match on Friday 31st July.
Having secured a hard-fought 3–2 victory over them at home previously, the ladies knew they would be facing a determined side looking to even the score.
Marlborough fielded a strong team and made the most of home advantage. Unfortunately, we were missing several of our regular players, but the ladies gave everything they had and fought hard throughout the match. Despite their efforts, Marlborough proved too strong on the day, with the match finishing in a 4–1 defeat.
The greens at Marlborough were in good condition, especially considering the prolonged dry weather we’ve been experiencing.
Although the result didn’t go our way, the ladies remain positive and are looking forward to bouncing back in their next fixture, away at Cumberwell on 15th August.
