First Team Update
June 2024
After just missing out on promotion last season the first team’s season started on 27th April away to Broome Manor, a team that were relegated from the first division last season. West Wilts arrived with a strong team but unfortunately were beaten 5.5-0.5 against a very strong Broome Manor team.
The first home game of the season saw Marlborough visit West Wilts on June 1st. All four matches were extremely tight, and the quality of golf was high. In one four ball, a combined 16 birdies were recorded! The match ended 6-0 to Marlborough, a result that doesn’t reflect how tight all four matches were.
Chippenham visited West Wilts on 8th June for the second home match of the season. Despite a tough start to the season the team put in a great performance winning 5.5-0.5 overall. This was followed up with another win on 22nd June against Broome Manor at West Wilts. Following the heavy defeat to Broome Manor in the opening game of the season the team showed great quality to beat them 5.5-0.5.
Each team that has visited West Wilts this season has been very complimentary of the golf course and the club in general, complimenting the clubhouse, members and hospitality.
