Director’s Cups played in the Olympic Spirit
While the world’s best players were teeing up in Rio De Janeiro to compete for Olympic gold, here at West Wilts our members were taking the challenge of winning one of two Director’s cups with equal determination.
Fortunately, there is no chance of catching the Zika virus here (it’s too windy for mosquitos). 57 players took part in overcast and the windy conditions made it difficult to shoot a really low score. The winners held their nerve and came in with impressive scores.
Division 1: 0-12
1st - Neil Adams (38 pts )
2nd - Clive Burton (36 pts on countback)
Division 2: 13-24
1st - Dave Dredge (37 pts)
2nd - Stuart Beggs (35 pts)
3rd – Andrew Sutton (34 pts on countback)
4th – Tom Hibbs (34 pts on countback)
The toughest hole of the day playing into wind was the 15th followed closely by the 5th.
Tige Ladd scored the only two of the day and helped himself to a nice prize pot.
