Club Championships 2023
Saturday, 15th and Sunday, 16th July
The 2023 Club Championships were held in challenging conditions over 36 holes on the 15th and 16th July. 92 men played in the morning competitions - 42 in the Club Championship and Tiger Trophy and 50 in the Gilbert Bowl.
Winners were:
- Club Championship (Scratch Comp): Elliot James
- Tiger Trophy (0-10.4 Handicap Index): Elliot James
- Gilbert Bowl (10.5-28.4 Handicap Index): Tom Smith
The ladies, who competed in the afternoons, experienced increasingly gusty winds and heavy rain showers.
Lizzy Bryant won the Ladies Championship retaining the Scratch Trophy for the 4th year and Maxine Portnell won the nett Glendinning Trophy.
Additional Ladies trophies were awarded for the first time this year.
Lizzy Bryant winning the Jubilee Shield (1 day Best Gross Div 1), Gill Newton the Donald Rose Bowl (1 day Best Gross Div 2), Maxine Portnell the Medal Cup (1 day Best Net Div 1) and Sarah Pickup the Jubilee Plate (1 day Best Net Div 2).
