Charity Pickups for Peace
WWGC Members are 3 of 4 drivers taking 4 wheel drive vehicles to the Ukraine!
The pickups and equipment are the major donation.
But a few convoys ago drivers turned up with tins of homemade goodies and the Ukrainian army were very happy. It has become an instant tradition and not that it was needed further cemented our reputation. West Wilts Golf Club are continuing this tradition with a donation of Helen's delicious Flapjacks!!!
Three West Wilts members, Anthony Knyvett, John Russell and myself, Nicholas Walters, are driving two pickups loaded with much needed equipment to Lviv in Ukraine.
This is all supervised by a great charity called Pickups for Peace.
To date P4P have sent out 595 vehicles full of aid to Ukraine and this will likely reach 640 vehicles on the 20th convoy departing with us in early May.
This is only possible with the support of friends, family and other kind donors. The Just Giving Page set up by us three plus the fourth driver Michael Drummond Smith has reached £16,500 which is a testament to people's (including many members of the West Wilts Golf Club) generosity.
We wanted to stop just feeling sorry for the poor people of Ukraine and to do something positive to actually help them.

A very generous donation from local Chitterne farmer, Neil Harley standing with his mother Jane.
