Captain’s Day was finally won!
Having been rained off (August), fogged off (October) and with the risk of snow, Club Captain Guy Bettesworth managed to get his day off with a bang start in near perfect conditions and a full entry sheet early on 22 November.
The plan for August with a long day, lazy lunch, drinks, plenty of sunshine and supper afterwards had to be shoe-horned into a very short daylight day in late November and it was to everyone’s credit that all golf was played in daylight, the prize-giving and supper were held on time and Guy’s speech afterwards applauded the efforts of everyone involved to make the day happen (almost) as intended.
Morning Results:
The morning Singles competition was swept up by Ken Aylott (44 pts) who was one point ahead of the trio of Elliott James, Duncan Gee and Chris Trimby who all scored an excellent 43pts. John Edwards finished in 5th place with 42pts.
Nearest the Pin prizes were taken by Chris Lindop (4th), Darren Munro (7th), Don Hiscock (9th), Mark Hicketts (13th) and Josh Wyer (16th).
In the afternoon a 4BBB competition was held, again started with a bang, with all teams managing to finish as dusk drew in.
