Captain & Ladies Captain – Warminster Journal Charities Report

Herewith the article that was written and appeared in this week's Warminster Journal about the monies raised by Dympna and myself during our respective Captain's year in 2025.

A golf club captain who received care at Warminster Community Hospital after a serious accident has helped fund new equipment for the ward.
West Wilts Golf Club Captain Colin Fourmy chose to support the Longleat Ward at Warminster Community Hospital after spending 11 days there during his recovery.
Alongside the Ladies Captain, Dympna Bell, the pair organised a series of fundraising events throughout their captaincies in 2025, raising a combined total of £4,800 to be shared equally between the ward and Julia’s House children’s hospice.
Colin chose to support the ward after receiving care there following a serious accident in June 2024.
“It was not only the care afforded to me but to all patients that I met that made me determined to give something back to the community as a whole,” said Colin.*
