CAPT/PRO SALVER MATCHES UPDATE
The Capt/Pro Salver is a series of 12 challenge matches held over the winter months in which pairs play 4BBB matchplay against the pairing of Club Captain and Professional. The challenge culminates with a 4BBB Stableford competition of all participants.
The 2014 Captain Harry Hassell partnered Club Professional Lawrence Wilkin to host the final competition and lunch for all challengers on Sunday 12 April.
The (second) best score of the day was recorded by 2013 Captain Phil Harris partnered by 2015 Captain Guy Bettesworth with 37pts. Harry and Lawrence, perhaps motivated by the intense battle they had with their own opponents of the day, scored 38pts.
The Salver is awarded to the pairing who achieve the best score against the Capt/Pro during the seres of challenge matches and this year was won by Kim Harrild and Colin Williamson who won their match 3up.
