Audi Quattro Cup (update)
Having both qualified as individuals in the local 'Salisbury Audi Invitational' at High Post GC in June, Dirk Pinnell and Alan Goldsworthy competed in the regional finals of the Audi Quattro Cup at The London Club on 5 August.
Both had to play 4BBB with partners chosen by the local Heritage Audi dealership. Dirk and his partner managed an extremely creditable 44pts to finish in 2nd place behind the winning score of 47pts. Sadly Alan and his partner were back in the mix and so only Dirk progressed to the UK final which was held at Bowood Golf & Country Club on 3 September.
Dirk and his partner enjoyed the benefits of qualifying for the final; the loan of a top of the range Audi car for two weeks, three nights all inclusive at Bowood and participation in the UK Final. Sadly they finished in the middle of the pack and so missed out on the chance to be one of the two winning pairs to represent Audi GB in the Audi Quattro Cup World Final at The Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol Golf Club, Los Cabos, Mexico between 29 Nov - 3 Dec. Nevertheless this was a great result to get so far and we wish both Dirk and Alan good luck for their golf in 2016, when no doubt they will both be vying to do even better and to get to the respective finals again.
The Audi Quattro Cup, in its 25th year, is the world’s largest amateur golf competition with almost 100,000 players from over 50 countries taking part.
