Ambassador member Mike White achieves big in 2024
Mike has had an exceptional season representing West Wilts as an amateur this year with a number of incredible achievements which are detailed below.
Results so far for the 2024 season:
20-21/3/24 - UK Seniors Golf Association
Aldeburgh GC, Suffolk 1st
9-10/4/24 - Hayling Seniors Scratch Open
Hayling GC, Hampshire 28th
17-18/4/24 - Jock Lawrence Trophy
Kingsdown GC, Wiltshire 5th
23-24/4/24 - West of England Seniors Championship
Burnham & Berrow GC, Somerset 4th
29-30/4/24 - North Wales Senior Open
Wrexham GC, Wales T 1st (2nd on countback)
2-3/5/24 UK - Seniors Golf Association
Coxmoor GC, Nottinghamshire 1st
31/7/24-2/8/24 - European Seniors Golf Association Championships - Reykjavík, Iceland
Mike was captain of the UK team that won the team championship beating 17 other European nations. Mike also finished 1st in the individual championship.
19/8/24 - Senior Channel League vs Gwent @ The Monmouthshire Golf Club
Represented Wiltshire Seniors in the above match which Wiltshire won to keep our unbeaten record this year (5 wins from 5). Mike won both of his games. (AM Greensomes, PM Singles).
2-3/9/2024 - High Post Senior Scratch Open
1st - Won on the 1st hole of a sudden death playoff
4-5/9/2024 - UK Seniors Golf Association Event (UKSGA)
Stanton-on-the-Wolds GC, Nottinghamshire 2nd Place.
This moves Mike up to 2nd place in the order of merit with only three events remaining and all but guarantees qualification to the 2025 European Seniors Golf Association Championships in Spain.
Mike was also named in the Welsh team for the Senior Home Internationals. These are being held at Castlerock Golf Club, Northern Ireland 17-19th September.
Mike has also been selected to represent the UKSGA in a match against Spain at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in October.
Huge congratulations to Mike for what he has achieved so far this season with the best of luck for the final few events coming up.
